The New York State Retired Teachers’ Association, NYSRTA, is a fifty-year-old organization with ten zones statewide. The Central Western Zone includes ten counties: Allegany, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne, Wyoming and Yates. NYSRTA is the only autonomous organization working with its primary focus on retired educators. Membership is open to all teachers, supervisors, counselors, administrators, teaching assistants, non-certified staff in educational institutions and their spouses. NYSRTA publishes a quarterly newsletter, YORK STATE, which helps us stay current on legislation affecting our benefits and offers services and programs of interest.
The members of the New York State Retired Teachers’ Association would like to take this opportunity to invite you to become a member of our family of retired educators.
A Life Membership is recommended as a great bargain at $450. You may select annual renewal membership at the present rate of $30. We would love to have spouses join, also. It is important that they stay abreast of any new legislation that might affect their future benefits.
Please consider the advantages of joining NYSRTA today. You will automatically be enrolled in our local Central Western Zone, CWZ, at no extra cost. The CWZ has an annual luncheon meeting to provide opportunities for members to learn about pending legislation, hear interesting speakers on pertinent issues and visit with old friends and colleagues.
Each of the ten counties included in the CWZ meet locally and membership at a modest cost to cover postage for mailings and programs is charged. It is important to be an active member at all levels to insure health insurance benefits are protected and COLA benefits are increased. As retired educators, we all belong to several service organizations and volunteer countless hours for many different charitable concerns. NYSRTA is one organization you can join for YOU!
